Welcome to my blog! I'm hoping to keep this updated while I'm in South America so anyone who is interested can see a little bit of what is going on. I think I'm off to a pretty good start considering this is day #1 and I'm already posting.
First off, a little bit about the journey here.... I hit a few bumps in the road right off the bat.
1. I realize, while sitting in the DC airport, that I have booked my first hostel night for Jan. 11th when I don't, in fact, actually get into the country until the 12th! When I booked it I didn't take into consideration that it was taking me a full day to get down there. Stupid me.
2. They announce to my flight before we board that Argentina has a brand new "reciprocity" fee of a whopping $130 for American's coming into the country. Yippee!!
It seemed that things were taking a turn for the better though once I got onto my flight. I had no one sitting next to me, and had somehow magically been put into one of the Economy "plus" seats with an extra 5 inches of leg room! Apparently you were supposed to pay $100+ for this little extra, but somehow I got it for free.
